2 days rock climbing lessons in Arco (area of Lake Garda Italy) and 3 days mountaineering instruction on the glacier in the Marmolada Dolomites. BB in Hotel and mountain hut.Note: The alpine mountaineering trips which we are offering have been chosen among the most
beautiful and most famous ones in the respective areas. Partially the trails are crossing glaciers
or sometimes "airy" paths which are equipped with iron ropes (via ferrata). The guidance by a mountain guide is
indispensable, unless you have great high mountain experience and complete command of rope maneuvers which are
necessary for the crossing of glaciers (for example rescue maneuvers from glacier crevasses, knot system for a rope
team) as well as the correct use of the technical equipment on the VIA FERRATA (iron/ladder paths). The security of
the participants is top priority for the mountain guide of alpine School Arco. He will teach the participants
alpine techniques and demonstrate how to handle possible perils in the mountains in a proper way.
It is possible to change the date of the alpine mountaineering trip, once the minimum number of
participants has been reached or once the amount corresponding to the minim. no. of participants has been
paid.
For our guests who are arriving by plane we are offering a pick-up service from the airport to Lake
Garda.

Extremely scenic high alpine guided tour in the astounding surroundings of towers and eternal walls of the Dolomites. We are leaving from Rovereto with our mini-van and driving to MADONNA DI CAMPIGLIO until we have reached the starting point of our trekking trip after ca. 90 min. by car. Hiking in ascent (appx. 3 to 4 hrs.) to the mountain hut "Rifugio Alimonta (2.580 m) where we will spend the night. Next day: on Via Ferrata (iron/ladder path) "BOCCHETTE CENTRALI" via "Vedretta degli Sfulmini"up to "Bocchetta degli Armi". We will reach our next destination, the mountain hut "Rifugio Pedrotti alla Tosa", after ca. 3 to 4 hours. The descent back to our starting point will take appx. 4 hrs. Transfer back to Rovereto and/or your hotel at Lake Garda.
What to bring along on the guided via ferrata trip: backpack - water - sandwich - light windcheater - solid trekking boots -
hiking sticks - sun protection - light gloves - sleeping sheet.
Equipment for vie ferrate: harness, ferrata-set, helmet (can be rented from the mountain guide upon request).
Note: for the overnight stay incl. half-board (breakfast+dinner) in the mountain hut, one should calculate

Description of the high alpine tour: Leaving from our meeting point with our mini-van, we are driving to FASSA VALLEY. After ca. 90 min. by car, we have reached LAKE FEDAIA from where we will take the cableway to the mountain hut "Rifugio Pian dei Fiacconi" (2.625 m). On the adjacent glacier we will teach and practice the correct use of ice-axe and crampons in ascent and descent. Overnight stay in "Pian dei Fiacconi" lodge. Next day: crossing of the glacier and ascent to the peak of MARMOLADA (ca. 3 hrs.). Descent to "Pian dei Fiacconi" lodge and back to where we have parked our mini-van at LAKE FEDAIA. Transfer back to ORA/AUER train station and/or your hotel at Lake Garda.
What to bring along on the guided high alpine trip: backpack - water - sandwich - windcheater - preferably boots which
are suitable for the use with crampons - gloves - hat/cap - sunglasses - hiking sticks - sleeping sheet.
Technical equipment: pick, crampons, harness (will be provided by the mountain guide and is included in the price).

Description: Tour of high-alpine character amidst impressive scenic landscape. Leaving from Rovereto with our mini-van, we are heading towards MADONNA DI CAMPIGLIO until we have reached the starting point of our trekking tour after ca. 90 min. by car in NAMBRONE Valley where we will park the van at an altitude of ca. 2.000 m. After hiking one hour in ascent through the Natural Park, we will reach the mountain hut "Rifugio G. Segantini" (2.371 m.) where you have the possibility to taste some specialties of Trentino. Staying overnight in the mountain hut. Next day: after four and half hours walking time will reach the highest mountain top in Trentino, PRESANELLA PEAK (3.558 m). Descent: ca. 4 hours, back to Rovereto and/or your hotel at Lake Garda. Due to the high elevation difference which has to be mastered (1.600 m), an extremely good physical condition is a prerequisite for the participation in this guided tour.

Description: Tour with alpine character in a particular scenic landscape with excellent view over the entire Lake Garda. Leaving from Rovereto with our mini-van, we are driving to Lake Garda until we have reached the starting point of our mountaineering tour in RIVA DEL GARDA (ca. 30 min. by car). Our trekking proceeds on a rather steep forest path and will lead us the sanctuary "S. Barbara" from where we will follow our path to ROCCHETTA PEAK (1.519 m)- partially on "via ferrata/iron(ladder) path) -. The elevation difference which has to be managed is ca. 1.400 m. This mountaineering tour can be done in wintertime as well. We would like to underline that a very good physical condition is a prerequisite for the participation in this tour. An ascent in summertime must not be under-estimated due to the strong exposure to the sun during the entire mountaineering tour.

APa From MOUNT CORNETTO to MOUNT BAFFELAN
Duration: 6 to 7 hrs. guided alpine mountaineering trip

High alpine tour in particularly scenic landscape and great historical background. Departing from Rovereto with our mini-van we are driving to Vicenza. We will reach the starting point of our tour, "Passo Pian delle Fugazze" after about 45 min. Our first mountain top is MOUNT CORNETTO (1.900 m). Itinerary: following the paths which have been constructed by the soldiers during World War I, sometimes on crests, partially rather "airy" passages equipped with iron ropes. The ascent to BAFFELAN PEAK is optional (some easy climbing is involved to reach the top). On our descent we will pass the mountain lodge "Passo di Campogrosso" where we can have a snack. The way back to our mini-van is on a very comfortable path. This mountaineering tour is very often being compared to the vie ferrate in the BRENTA Dolomites but - from an alpine point of view - it is much more difficult. Excellent training for high-alpine tours with wonderful panorama; with good weather it even possible to see Venice and the Adriatic Sea. Back to Rovereto and/or your hotel at Lake Garda.

This course is destined for people who love hiking and via ferrata but would like to extend their knowledge in the rocks and on glaciers in order to being able to proceed in high alpine areas in safety. This is our program:
1st day - Meeting point: parking lot at motorway exit ROVERETO SUD at 09.00 a.m. or in your hotel at Lake Garda - ROCK CLIMBING lesson in suitable climbing crag; we teach different climbing techniques for example: chimney, cracks, slabs; different knots, belaying and rope techniques. Overnight stay in a hotel in Arco or near Lake Garda.
2nd day - Departure from the hotel at 08.30 a.m. - ROCK CLIMBING on multi-pitch route. Different rope manouvres and rappelling exercises. Overnight stay in a hotel in Arco or near Lake Garda.
3rd day - Departure from Hotel to Marmolada Dolomites (2,5 hrs. by car) - Ascent to glacier - Lesson: correct use of crampons and icepick. Rope manouvres for glacier crossing and rescue from crevasse. Overnight stay in mountain lodge in Marmolada Dolomites.
4th day - Ascent to the highest Top of Marmolada Glacier - Progression of the rope team on the glacier and ascent on a short via ferrata to PENIA PEAK (3.340 m.) - total: ca. 7 hrs. Overnight stay in mountain hut in Marmolada Dolomites.
5th day - Practical lesson: use of alpine equipment, repetition of rope manouvres as well as check of previously acquired knowledge. ALPINGUIDE.COM (mountain guides of Trentino) will issue a CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION for each participant indicating the personal results of course - trekking in descent to the valley: ca. 2 hrs.
